The Strangers: Chapter 2
Chapter 2 continues on from Chapter 1. The hospital scene was a bit ridiculous because there was literally almost no one there while she got chased around by the strangers. Then it got better once she was out of there. I did like the flashbacks that provided some history of how the male and one of the females began their horrific obsession and explains a couple things. Overall it was worth the watch and continued the brutalizing suspense with a lot more kills and bloodshed.

Resident Evil
Although this one is definitely different and I enjoyed it, it’s not my favorite one. This movie is a grotesque fun ride that includes original thematics from the video games. There are some decent jump scares and quite a bit of comedic relief as well. There were parts that reminded me of the CGI effects from Evil Dead Rise, The Substance, and Stranger Things all rolled into one hot mess! I recommend it, especially to gore fanatics.

The Strangers: Chapter 1
The original movie was not my favorite horror flick, but I enjoyed this one more than I thought I would. I was actually rooting for the couple here even though I knew the ending was going to be tragic. There are a few jump scares, not a ton of gore, but this one was terrifying overall. Looking forward to watching the next two chapters. And I will rent another Airbnb again…never. Worth the watch for sure.

Fresh
I liked the concept of this movie; however, it was 30 min too long and I wanted to see more of the surgical procedures and depletion of the victims. I was surprised to see the final girl count so high which to me was not realistic. The main serial killer doctor had a solid performance. I appreciated the setting and music as well. Overall, definitely a cannibal horror film but underwhelming as a whole for me.

Cannibal Holocaust
I’ve been waiting to watch this movie for a long time. Finally viewed it and it was disturbing. However, I did not get cannibalistic vibes as much as pure animal brutality. There was some great shots in here and scenes I’ll never forget (the turtle kill). Nevertheless, I can see why this is recommended for hard core horror fans and I can finally check it off my bucket list.
